Cold front and Warm thoughts

My desire to buy candy corn is becoming stronger and my resolution to not eat it is weakening. I think I will give in. That cold front was super awesome, especially super awesome for me, because I was cold. I just could not stay away from Prescott. My family and parents came along this time. Watching conference and drinking hot cocoa while the wind and cold air whipped outside- it really felt like the Holidays had arrived. I love conference.

I wish my husband could go to Priesthood session every night. When he comes home he is very happy. There were so many talks I enjoyed. I enjoyed the messages of simplifying your life. It was absolutely fantastic and was right on with what I am passionate about at the moment. (More on that later) President Monson talked about living your life and enjoying it. Again, I felt like this spoke directly to me. This is sometimes a struggle for me. So I surround my self with positive messages to combat negative thoughts. I am going to attempt an art project soon, ( I am no artist, but I like to create things) the project is basically a saying “Get started with your Happy Life”. I love it! A more humbling thought was during Elder Bednar’s talk, when his wife was instructed to pray and express only gratitude. When did I do that last? I could not recall. Almost every night I pray that Weston will sleep though the night, it has been about a month of 4-5 hour sleeps for that guy. I gave it a try, I was not expecting a miracle, I know that my struggles are known, so I probably don’t need to voice them ALL the time. 10 hours later I woke up to my beautiful son’s smiling face and baby deer outside our window, it was a great 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I need to go get started with my happy life and do that not so happy pile of dishes and laundry. I hope you have a happy week. Thanks for letting me share.

I loved spending time with my grandparents! They always make me laugh.
Oh! Someone in my family dated Elder Bednar at the Y, can you guess who? It pleases me to say, that he was a great man, even back in his BYU days.

I really enjoyed President Monson's talk too. I felt like it really applied to me as well. I'm always worried about the future or putting things off for another time when there is "more time". I thought it was a great talk!
The cabin is BEAUTIFUL and COLD!
See you for the Zoo Walk :)

Sounds like you guys had so much fun! I love watching Conference with family and friends - it's so much easier to stay awake for! Give in to the candy corn, you can only eat it one season a year!! :)

Those talks about simplifying your life and having hope were great. Much more uplifting than the usual gloom and doom we hear every other day in the news. Sounds like you guys had a great time escaping to the cabin.
BTW, I'm sure Weston loved the grey hair, Wade missed out.

How exciting that Weston slept for 10 hours! I hope he does that more often, for both your sakes. Maybe Prescott is where he likes to be. I love when you update Chari, I miss you guys.

I loved all of those talks also. Elder Bednar's talk was great about prayer. I love being reminded of the simple things we need to keep doing.
