In the wake of uncertainty, trial, or even doubt, it is easy to fall into despair. It's difficult at times to except that even "bad things" happen to "good people". Doubt and discouragement are not my friends, but they seem to have visited me often over the last ummm..............well.............come to think of it.................. a while. I am not the picture of serenity in the face of adversity, quite the opposite in fact, but I am thankful for peace. Peace that comes from knowing that some day suffering ends, and the fact that I really do feel like I am becoming a better person from it all. By "all" I mean the blessings and trials that come my way. I am often reminded of this quote from Elder Holland's talk None were with him, a few years ago: " His solitary journey brought great company for our little version of that path—the merciful care of our Father in Heaven, the unfailing companionship of this Beloved Son, the gift of the Holy Ghost, angels in heaven, family members on both sides of the veil, prophets and apostles, teachers, leaders, friends. All of these and more have been given as companions for our mortal journey because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the Restoration of His gospel". When I look at the pictures above from my grandpa's 93rd birthday, and Memorial day family celebration, I see many people/blessings that help me on my path.Dearest loved ones, our blessings are many, let's get to counting!!!!!!!That seems like a good place to pause for now. :)
